This is a nice little dresser/baby changer. It wasn’t that hard to put together, although it is slightly tricky to make sure you’ve got the right parts in the right places. I believe it took about an hour doing it by myself, and it would be handy to have someone helping. The instructions are decent but not great. It seemed a bit flimsy when I first put it together, but once I tightened everything down, it was quite solid. We’ve been using it for a couple weeks now and it’s working great. And it looks pretty good too. If you need something like this, I wouldn’t hesitate to get this one.

This item is nice looking but poorly built. I was shocked at the poor quality as I expected more for the price. It says “some assembly required” but comes flat packed (like Ikea furniture but most Ikea furniture is better made) and has to be COMPLETELY assembled. I have assembled a lot of furniture in my life and this is by far the most poorly made. If I had not been charged so much for shipping I would have returned the dressers right away. I have only had them for a week and already two of the drawers have come apart and I have had to re-assemble. Think twice on this piece – I think you can find MUCH better for equal or less money.

We ordered this dresser to match the Kalani crib and the color is not exactly the same but close enough. I like the quality of the individual pieces but was disappointed with the way the drawers are assembled considering the price we paid for it. The drawers actually glide via sliders attached to the 2 sides of the dresser rather than down the middle of each drawer (does that make sense)? This makes the drawers less sturdy and feel cheap. If I were to do it over again, I would purchase this from an actual furniture store with better craftmanship. The instructions are also HORRIBLE. The pictures of the pieces are not drawn to scale which makes it confusing on the assembly and the isometric pictures look more like an optical illusion. It would help if the pieces were labeled (front/back, etc).

I was very indecisive about purchasing the 4 drawer or the 3 drawer dresser. I plan to use it as a changing table but wanted enough space to store things. I decided to go with the 4 drawer so I had enough space and it’s a perfect size. Some pictures of this dresser make it look a little off-white but it’s truly white. The instructions were easy to follow and went together great and fairly quickly (2 hours from unpacking to carrying it to the room). The dresser seems a little fragile as I already have a very small chip in the paint but overall I think this was a great purchase.

This is a very nice furniture piece BUT the tools this dresser comes with are very poor quality!! It comes with these locking screw things that kept breaking and it doesn’t make the dresser very sturdy; it wobbles and that is a concern if it will be used by a young child. It took my husband,who is VERY mechanically inclined, 4 hours to put this thing together and we get to the last drawer and they sent us 2 of the same side slides for the drawer. So, now I have to call the manufacturer to have them send us the correct pieces. My advice to other prospective buyers of this type of furniture is go ahead and spend the extra money on something in a furniture store!! This was not worth the added stress!!

The drawer is of solid wood construction except for the sides which are constructed of particle board. The hardware for the drawers consists of camlocks holding the front on. These camlocks appear to be made of a cast pot metal. I doesn’t take much torque to break these camlocks. Despite the hardware issue it is descent sized drawer for the price.

This Chinese-made (which I didn’t realize when I ordered it) dresser is larger than you might expect & looks pretty nice. However, I think the drawers have issues. The drawer sides & back appear to be made of a very light wood (balsa wood maybe?). The drawer front attaches to the rest of the drawer via ‘cam lock’ type fasteners. On mine, two drawer sides split when tightening the cams; like I said, wimpy…

I purchased this product to match the DaVinci Emily Crib we bought 5 months ago. I was a little concerned about the quality of the material used for this product based on other reviews, but the product is as good as any other particle board product can be. The packaging was good, the wood finish is good (and matches with the crib) and more importantly it was quite easy to put together. I would strongly recommend this product along with the crib (see my separate review for the crib).

These drawers pretty to look at, but cheaply made and very hard to assemble. It took over 5 hours to get this one together. Right out of the box there were scratches and scuffs, which wasn’t very nice. Overall I do like the drawers,I think the price is a bit high for what you get.

Once we found this item in a local store (many phone calls to the stores/customer service later), we immediately were impressed with the quality and price. This piece is a perfect height to double as a changing table which is our intention. The only problem we noticed is that the top needs a little reinforcing during the assembly process. My husband used a couple blocks of wood and a few screws to more securely attach the top to the base. Most of the piece is treated pine with only the top and drawer faces being verneer. The color is very similar to the color viewed on-line.

DaVinci Kalani Combo Dresser – Cherry Reviews

We ordered this product along with a matching crib (DaVinci Kalani Convertible Baby Crib – Cherry). These appeared to be a nice middle-ground between the really cheap particle-board and cardboard dressers at 0 and the (beautiful) Amish solid wood pieces at 00+. The crib is wonderful, and aside from scratching easily it is fantastic.

This dresser, however, is another story. In addition to the solid wood frame, the drawers have particleboard frame, and the drawer bottoms are the thinnest, cheapest cardboard you can find. All of the hardware in the dresser is of poor quality, which caused numerous problems during assembly. In one case, the screws pulverized the particleboard and I needed to purchase a new screw, drill my own hole, and hope that I didn’t destroy the wood in doing so.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the drawers also come apart fairly often (once/month). I have been tempted to glue the drawers to decrease this frequency. My concern with that is that the cardboard is so cheap, that I’m not sure it would hold up to the gluing, and I think that might be the end of the drawers.

The entire unit sways a little bit too. Tightening it only makes it worse (yikes!).

Overall a big disappointment. It looks beautiful, but it won’t hold up. We should have either spent less, or more on something that will really last.

First I must say, when I purchased this dresser it was listed at 9 (not the current 9). I actually called and inquired to amazon about the price to make sure it was accurate.

I recieved the dresser super quick and my husband inspected the pieces and put it together. He was impressed with how sturdy it is and he is not easily impressed. He realized when putting on one of the final pieces (the small top) that one corner was damaged and the wood was coming apart. I made a 10 minute call to million dollar baby (the manufacturer) and they sent out the damaged pieces (I had a piece damaged on the matching crib) via fed ex. We had them within a week!

Great product, great manufacturer customer service and great price (although I don’t know if I could pay the current 9 price for this dresser).
